For Team and Community Judges from Houston and South TX regions

Make-up session for Training for Volunteer Judges who plan to serve at the Houston (HARO) Competition, or Judges from the South TX Region wo will serve at the TX State Competition. This Make-up session may be limited in scope. Judge Training is a requirement for ALL judges including returning judges.

PART ONE: General training is provided by video. All new judges can take this training on their own time - deadline to submit the general certification test is Feb 5th. Returning judges are exempt from the general training but they also must submit the general certification test by Feb 5th.

Also available online is a short presentation for Educators. Educators receive G/T Differentiated Curriculum certificate recognized for GT credit by HISD, SBISD, SISD. Other educators or professionals can check with their own district/organization. The certificate is provided on competition day.

PART TWO: All judges are required to attend, both returning and new judges. This will be in the form of video conferencing on Saturday, Feb 8th from 3 to 5 pm approximately. You will receive access details by groups by Feb 6th, if you have submitted your general certification test timely.

There will be no other training opportunities.

Judges' Training is REQUIRED, even if you have judged before.

Judge registration opens in Nov 2024. Judges will receive general training access information after they register.
